9:45 p.m. - I get home last night from class(very excited to watch The Biggest Loser on DVR with hubby) and see this kitty in the upstairs window where she usually likes to sit. Except this time I can actually see her very clearly and not through a screen. WHERE IS THE SCREEN????
I get out of my car as fast as I can and run around Justin's truck which is parked near the window. I yell at Mia (white kitty) "DON'T JUMP"(she totally knew what I was saying). I ran instead and screamed "WHERE'S MOLLY(grey kitty), THE SCREEN FELL OUT!"
Justin and I totally flipped and he started looking inside for her while I took a flashlight to the bushes outside. He frantically ran outside when he couldn't find her inside. We took flashlights and ran all over the yard looking for her (with fears she had run out onto the busy road). Justin spotted her on the front porch.
She was so freaked out she ended up running into the bushes underneath the window. She started crying a deep moan cry and I was so scared that she was hurt. We threw treats at her and held out a huge bowl of milk. Justin finally grabbed her and we took her inside. We watched her for a while and she seemed to be fine. Whew! What a scare! I know cats land on their feet, but from a second story window I was not sure. Luckily she is okay! Have you ever had any cat scares?

Oh my gosh. That is SO scary- it is one of my worst nightmares.. I often think about that happening :( I am so glad everyone was okay!
So glad your kitties are ok!!
My aunt lived in a high rise on the beach (20th floor I think?)- her cat got out on the balcony once and was walking along the railing- soooo scary. Thankfully my aunt grabbed her and everything was fine!
OH my goodness that would scare me so bad!! I love my kitty Lola. We just moved into a new house and she has a "visitor" that comes around and howls at her. Well ,the first time this happened I nearly jumped out of my pants! Lola went running head on into the sliding glass doors straight at the other cat, hissing and crying (which she never does!). We spoil her...hopefully we will learn what we did wrong with her before we have children!!
My college roommate's cat fell out of our second story window all the time! There was a loose screen that maintenance refused to fix (although they always insisted it would be fine) and the cat would keep putting his weight on it and keep falling out.
I'm so glad your story had a happy ending...you had me on the edge of my computer chair (lol).
OH my gosh - that's the scariest feeling! We haven't had cat scares, but dog scares when one of our 2 has rushed past us out the front door at the sight of a squirrel. Glad both kitties are ok :)
Oh my goodness! How did the screen fall out? I'm glad everyone is ok!
In college my cat Bentley was let out in the middle of the night by one of my roomates, who didn't know she had let her out. In the morning I couldn't find her and I looked for her until I had to go to class, I was a mess!
Then at the bus stop, my neighbor came up to me and was like "I think I have your cat."
He had seen her outside a took her into his apartment, I was so happy!
That is really scary! It's lucky that everything is okay! My cats growing up got themselves into a lot of trouble too and even once let themselves out the door--they always came back okay, though.
