7 things about me

Usually I don't do the blog award thing.

Today I'm making an exception, mostly because I'm needing a blog post for today. I'm actually sitting here waiting for Oprah to come on so I can see Nie Nie! I'm kind of excited about it. So while I wait I shall gratefully accept my award from The Roddy Bride. Now here I go...

7 Facts About Me!

1. I am in grad school at the University of Richmond to get a teaching license and a Master of Education. I'll be student teaching next fall and I cannot wait! I want to teach 1st grade and possibly one day Espanol! Scary, I know!

2. You may have seen this on a post before, but I eat Chick-Fil-A almost 4 times a week. I am utterly obsessed. It's the yummiest stuff to me in the whole world!

3. Three weeks ago I was laid off from my job. I didn't write about it because I was so angry that I knew I would come off pretty hateful. I have to say that I am so much happier now that I am not there anymore. I was so miserable for 19 months and now I feel FREE! I felt that I was treated horribly and did nothing to change the situation for myself. And it double stinks when you're laid off because they tell you they can't "afford" two assistants (and you're the one in school pursuing something else), and then you find out two weeks later they've hired someone else full time.
"When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers."
-Proverbs 21:15

4. I love to sing. I sing in our praise band at church every Sunday morning. I used to be embarassed to sing in front of other people. I thought that girls who were my age (school chorus) were all better than I was so that I shouldn't even try. I stopped caring and now I'll sing in front of anyone! Give me a microphone and I'll sing whatever you want, but ask me to speak in front of people and that is a very different story!

5. I like growing up. I've embraced my freckles, I actually like to clean my kitchen, I enjoy doing nothing on a Friday night, know that I can pick and choose my friends, know when to stand up for myself and do more of what I want to do than what other people want me to do. Feels kinda good!

6. I love to travel! I have been to Mexico, Canada, Spain, Portgual, Morocco, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, St. Thomas, St. Marteen and the Bahamas! I may even get to go to Italy next summer for a 2 week long class! Justin and I also want to go to Iceland, Argentina, cruise nothern/eastern Europe and go to the Caribbean for a getaway!

7. I did not live with my husband before we got married. Gasp!, I can hear you say! It has been so much more meaningful to discover things together this way. Of course it's a brand new thing for both of us but it's so worth it! If the Lord puts you with someone that you're meant to be with, you do not need to "test" it out to make sure it works first. If you trust him, you've gotta trust him all the way!

Okay that's it. Hope I haven't bored you to tears! Maybe you've learned something! I now tag these seven Creative Bloggers to be awarded and share their facts with us all!

Aww...shucks. Thanks for passing along the love. BTW, I think it's comendable (and just plain classy) that you waited to live together.

It definitely is commendable that you chose to wait until marriage to move in. No one should judge you for that decision! You should never have to explain a decision you make other than to whom it will effect.

I am glad that you decided to take the award :). Keep on blogging!

What a FUN post!!

I wanted to tell you that I feel your frustration on being laid off. Unbelievably, I was laid off THREE times within the last 18 months and was in a sad place in my life. Although I didn't see it then, God had a plan for me. I found a job closer to home (10 minute commute instead of the 1 1/2hour commute), a stable company and a supervisor who praises and loves our God! What a blessing! I am sure great things are just around the corner.

Best of Luck!

Oh your #3 just pulled at my heartstrings! (I have 2 weeks and 1.5 days to go before my office closes.) It's such an emotional turmoil, isn't it? But you are yet another person that has said they are so much happier after. I know that will be the case as well, but not working sure doesn't pay the bills! ;) Best of luck!
