candy bar photo board

I made this photo board to show what I want to do for my candy bar display. I love to look at them because they are so bright and fun. We're going to have a lot of people at the wedding so the candy bar is going to have to be huge. It will probably be the favor for people to take home. I have been searching at different stores for fun and different jars to use. I would like to think everything on the candy bar will be pink/green/chocolate. Yum!

Since I'm on a roll with the bridesmaid stuff, I found these beautiful shoes from Stewart Weitzman. The only problem is they are SUPER expensive so, I need to look for something a lot less expensive with the same look. If anyone sees something similar please, please, please let me know!

I have been waiting on J.Crew dress swatches for weeks now. Every day I have optimistically opened the mailbox with anticipation of seeing my beautiful dresses swatches, and every day I am disappointed because they are not there. Today, voila, there they were. Strapless for my lovely sister and v-neck for the maids. The color is tea rose and is quite pretty. I actually bought one of these dresses in hot pink last spring at the J.Crew clearance store in Lynchburg and it has never been worn. This dress is so lightweight it feels like your're wearing a slip, which will be nice if it is 95 degrees outside. So here they are.

i love amy butler

I absolutely love Amy Butler . She creates beautiful fabrics and patterns that are very modern vintage looking. I was on her site tonight and found this new pattern for a halter top. It is so cute! I want to make it and wear it on my honeymoon(details yet to be released).

Ever since finding out about Amy Butler a few years ago I have always wanted this bag. It's the cutest thing ever with the oversized fabric bow. I think I need to learn how to sew(well). Usually I'll start sewing something, come up with my own way of doing it, and then quit because I get so frustrated! It's called the Swing bag.

She has recently come out with a line of gift wrap and I'm obsessed. I kind of want to ask Justin for this stuff for Valentine's Day. Leave it to me to ask for gift wrap as a gift.

My Fiance

I found this tonight and it's so much fun. It's a Polaroid maker for the pictures on your computer. I think it makes them look pretty neato. I used some of our engagement pictures for the occasion.

1 week countdown to the ISAACS

In just one week I get to see my favorite band The Isaacs play in Fredericksburg! They are truly a blessing to see and hear and they have a wonderful testimony. One of the singers, Sonya, is my singing idol and I wish I cound sing 1/10 of what she can. She's amazing! You will sit there the whole time with goosebumps so if you ever get a chance to see them, GO!

Oh dear

I probably shouldn't repeat this, but I was watching a show on CMT called "My Big Redneck Wedding" and it was the most hilarious thing I've ever seen in my life. Here is a top 10 list of some of my personal favorite highlights:

1. The bride wore camo
2. The groome wore camo overalls(without a shirt on underneath)
3. The limo was totally covered in Mossy Oak
4. The bride says she only has time to shave one leg the morning of her wedding, so she has to figure out which leg to put her garter on
5. The bride goes to a hunting/fishing supply store before she heads to the ceremony to purchase goldfish for the table centerpieces(which guests later consume - alive!)
6. There was no cake, only a jello shooter tiered display
7. The groom gives his wife a shotgun shell bag so she won't "have to use his anymore"
8. The bride arrives by johnboat to her alter which was a duck blind covered in leaves while all the guests sit in boats to watch
9. The bride and groom seal their love with two beer cans and the phrase "get 'er done"
10. The bridesmaids wore green dresses with camo bolero jackets

i want one!

I was looking at various blogs and I came across Preppy Paper Girl who makes these adorable recipe boxes with monograms. Every bride needs a cute recipe box to inspire her to cook. The blog also has adorable ornaments, personalized note cards and stationery, clipboards, luggage tags. I could go on and on.

My new friends

Bob and Jillian are tough. T-O-U-G-H! Now when I go bed I don't think about extra cheesy yummy pizza or raspberry filled powdered doughnuts, oh no, I think about Jillian in my face screaming to make it count! So now when I think about even eating __(insert bad food here)_, I think about Jillian and Bob and I immediately crave carrot sticks. The countdown is on! 1 lb. a week for 22 weeks equals a lot of lbs. lost. Oh it's ON!

I found this wedding on the Weddings Fresh blog and I think the details are beautiful. I love the softness of the flowers and the veil and dress. Reminds me of a garden wedding coming up in 4 months and 29 days!

5 month countdown

We met with our wedding planner Colleen tonight on our 5 month countdown to the altar. There is SO much left to do: Choose a band, videographer, cake, invitations, etc. I know I am way behind but as promised I am going to do my best to catch up. Fast. I can't believe that we have only 5 months left. I thought when we got engaged on May 11, 2008 that the wedding day seemed like an eternity away, and now it's almost here. Any cake suggestions?

I'm in Love

I found these dresses from Anna Elyse and fell in love with them. I really, really, really love them. I've contacted the closest store in D.C. to get more information and pricing on them. My personal favorite is the green dress on the far left. B.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. We'll see how much they cost, I don't want my girls to spend too much, but these are gorgeous. I would love to buy one for myself!

Baby Shower Candy Bar

My friend Katy and I threw a baby shower for our good friend Grace today, and we made our first attempt at creating a candy bar. We were thrilled because it came together beautifully.

Around some of the glass jars we used baby blue grosgain ribbon from Michael's, where we also found a couple glass containers. I found the paper on clearance at a local store and it has all the words to the song "You are my Sunshine" on it. How adorable!!! I only took a few pictures on my camera since Grace's husband let me use their new Canon SLR camera for the most part. One of my favorite moments was during the game "My Water Broke", where everyone has an ice cube with a plastic baby in the middle and the first one to suck the baby out of the ice cube wins. Lets just say it was hysterical! I am so excited for Grace and Jason and can't wait to meet their new addition coming hopefully around February 26!

Loving these bed linens

I have been searching for the perfect bed linens to put in our master bedroom when we get married. I found this duvet cover at Pottery Barn and I fell in LOVE with it a while back. I put it on our registry but as we all know Pottery Barn tends to turn over their merchandise in a fast kind of way. If I ever see it go on sale I'm snatching it up and taking it off the registry. It's just too important! They've also got this great pick stich quilt which is actually thicker than it looks. I'm either going to do it in cranberry or orange, since we have the green walls I'm trying to stay away from too much green(although it's one of my favorite colors).

I found this dust ruffle at Pine Cone Hill and I think it would look so cute with the duvet. I like the small scale pattern and I think it will look fine with the large floral of the duvet. I like it in the citron-ish color, but also blue and brown too. They have great linens if you haven't checked them out before.
