making progress

I feel like I'm finally making progress with the wedding plans! The invitations have been ordered from Hello Lucky. My wedding planner wanted me to have custom invitations made but I don't see the point when after a few weeks people are just going to throw them away. I am one of those people that holds on to every card ever sent to me, but I know that pretty much everyone else will not savour the thought like I do. They are very pretty, but I can't give details until they have been sent out. I want it to be a surprise.

I had my first wedding dress fitting on Friday afternoon and it fit beautifully. I've lost 12 lbs. since first trying it on so they may have to even take it in once I go in for the last fitting. It's from Mikaella Bridal and it's absolutely gorgeous. Let's just say the look is different and almost vintage. Once I put on my shoes and veil for the first time with my dress it all started to sink in that in 2 1/2 months we will be married!

i love saturdays

I have been a bad blogger! Between work, grad school, Wednesday night church, wedding planning AND trying to see Justin whenever I can (he works 4 days on/4 days off), life has been a little hectic. We have gotten a lot done for the wedding, which is great. Today we are going to choose tuxes for Justin and the groomsmen and then we're going to dinner at Cheesecake Factory with my very good friend Sara and her husband and their adorable 5 month old daughter Emma.

I'm trying to be really good about eating a lot healthier so I have already found what I will be eating tonight so that I don't even have to look through a menu. It's better that way. I was going to even split a piece of cheesecake with Justin, however I was looking at Dottie's Weight Loss Zone(which is an excellent Weight Watchers resource) and saw the cheesecakes are ridiculously high in points. I think we'll skip dessert tonight.

Tomorrow after church I going to my friend Katy's and we are going to watch the movie Twilight. I never thought that I'd be into this kind of thing, but she gave me the book last week and I haven't been able to put it down. Now I know why so many people are crazy about it. The mall opened last night at midnight so people could buy the DVD. How crazy! Have you read it?

happy birthday barbie

Today is Barbie's 50th birthday, and I've gotta say the girl still looks fabulous. I will never forget Peaches and Cream, my first Barbie, when I was three. She was beautiful and had a sparkly bodice and a gauzy peach ball gown. Wowza! I know a lot of people out there don't like Barbie and they think she causes "self-esteem" issues, but I think she's great. My sister and I had a 3 foot barbie townhouse with a cat that would meow when you touched it. Why can't this stuff entertain us forever?

snow day

We got snow! Richmond hasn't had snow like this in years and it is so pretty. My dog Lucy seems to rather enjoy it too. It looks like it's around 8 inches but I can't say for sure. I'm gonna enjoy my snow day!
