parasol pictures

These are probably some of my favorite pictures of the day. I bought the parasols three weeks before the wedding because I knew if I didn't take these pictures I would have been disappointed. I am SO glad that I did. They are from Luna Bazaar. There are a lot of pictures here but it's because I love them all. Check out the individual bridesmaid ones too! All of my bridesmaids looked beautiful!

wedding day: the girls getting ready

The wedding pictures are finally here! I want to try to show the pictures in chronological order so I'm going to start with the girls getting ready and go from there.

I am in love with my wedding dress. I found it in a magazine and ripped the picture out. It was the first dress that I tried on. After that I tried 8 more but kept comparing all of them to the first one. My mom made me sleep on it to make sure that it was the right decision. I could not be any happier with my decision. It made me feel so beautiful!

My bouquet - the "dusty miller" greenery seen here was taken out before the ceremony. I was not a huge fan. I felt bad asking the florist to take it out but I really didn't like it very much.

Can you tell that she is Miss Detailed??

Going downstairs to get ready for our parasol pictures outside!

my cat is officially crazy

So my cat Mia has always had a wee issue (no pun intended) with "going" other places besides her litterbox. This is just a "number one" issue. If there is a crinkly newspaper on the floor, a plastic bag, tissue paper or just whatever she finds appealing at the moment laying around, she likes to use it and abuse it. Even if it's laying 3 feet from the litterbox, she doesn't care. Now this is definately not an every day kind of thing, but it occurs more than I would like it to. Being that she was coming to live at Justin's with me, he thought it fitting to have her checked out by a professional. Her bladder turned out to be a-okay but they did detect a heart murmur and recommended a $500 EKG. Right, sign me up. So she stops for a while and then when I go on my honeymoon she goes EVERYWHERE at home. Let's just say Mama ain't happy, but thank goodness her iPod is working again. Oh yeah, Mia enjoyed going on that as well. To make a long story (kind of) short, I took her back to the vets office on Tuesday. They couldn't get a urine sample so they made me wait until Wednesday. And then Thursday. By this point I thought they had lost my cat and were looking for a replacement. We finally went to talk to the vet at 7 pm on Thursday evening. He told me that he hates breaking this kind of news to people but that my cat is fine but is completely neurotic and crazy. He said most cats are normal but white cats are freaks. So my little sweet furball was prescribed Prozac. Yes, my cat is on an anti-depressant. He thinks that this will calm her down and possibly make her go where she should. 20-40% chance of improvement to be exact. Justin's not crazy about those odds. If the problem doesn't clear up I'm afraid I'll have to share the medication with her because Justin will kick her to the curb. Fast. We've already talked about her going outside some but we live on a busy road and white cats can get skin cancer if they have too much sun exposure. Another check on the freaky cat list. Has anyone ever been in this situation? I love her so much and would die if I couldn't keep her anymore. I leave you with some pictures of my sweet Mimi (she has a lot of nicknames).

Me? Obsessed? No...

second day of honeymoon

We woke up the next morning to this beautiful sunrise over Diamondhead(which is an extinct volcano/crater). We couldn't sleep past 5:30, which was rough. There is a six hour time change between the east coast and Oahu so we felt like it was time to get up!

We got to get ready for breakfast. The Rainbow Tower of the hotel, where we stayed, has several restraunts on the ground floor. One was the Rainbow Lanai which overlooks the ocean. We both had the breakfast buffett which cost almost $30 per person! Let's just say that was the only time that we ate there.

The resort had a lot of gardens and ponds. We spotted these turtles on these rocks. They were so cute. They also had penguins and flamingos on the grounds. They were beautiful! After breakfast we went down to the beach for a few hours. The pool at the hotel was beautiful but I was so ticked off because by early morning all of the chairs had towels on them where people were "saving" their spots. We walked around the entire pool 3 times and couldn't find two chairs together. I'm going to say that 2/3 of these chairs were not even being used. That really bugs me! Waikiki beach is really pretty but the water is chilly and the sand is very rough. Justin loved playing in the water so I enjoyed watching him finding coral.

Later that evening we got dressed to go to downtown Waikiki, one block away from the ocean. The stores here are very high end with name brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, etc. We ate at Jimmy Buffet's Bar & Grill which was really yummy.

We were so tired after dinner so we went to bed early. I think it was around 8 pm or so. The wedding exhaustion really hit us so we slept a lot when we first got to Hawaii. It was such a wonderful day!
