healthy smoothie recipe

My husband has decided to start the "Thrive" diet, which is a very all-natural and strict diet, designed to create a very athletic body, inside and out. Being the supportive wife that I am, I have read half the book in efforts to figure out exactly what he is going to eat! We went to Whole Foods yesterday and spent a whopping $100 on this new "health food." This is not Weight Watchers my friends! This diet consists only of grains, nuts, legumes, healthy oils, veggies and fruits. Not easy!

I decided that this morning we would start off with an antioxidant smoothie and to my surprise, it was really good!

Recipe:

  • 1 banana
  • 2 cups cold water (or 1 1/2 cups cold water and 1 cup ice)
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed (or flaxseed oil)
  • 1 tbsp hemp protein
  • 1 tbsp agave nectar

I put all of the ingredients in a blender and mixed until ice was well blended. It just tastes like blueberries and I actually feel like a have a little more energy! Yes! Possibly more recipes to come!

That looks great! I love agave nectar - it's so good on oatmeal and in coffee too!
