praxis II freak out

I am taking the Praxis II - Elementary Content Knowledge on Saturday and I am a little freaked out by it. I have a study guide by Cliffs Notes that I have been studying from which seems to be nice. However, today Justin and I went to Barnes and Noble and I sat down with another study guide and the content of the book was totally different. Justin could tell that I was discouraged so he bought the study guide for me.

Have you taken the elementary Praxis II? How was it and how did you do?

On another note we went to see Avatar today and it was surprisingly good! We had the whole theater to ourselves too! Justin really wanted to see it so I suggested that we should go before it leaves theaters and I'm so glad that we went. I really enjoyed it!

I took the Praxis II about a year and a half ago and it is NOT that bad!! Especially if your school did a good job of preparing you for it. Truly a lot of it is common teaching knowledge. There were some questions about things like the color wheel and phys ed questions that were kind of weird, but as long as you know all of the methods (esp. for math & reading) and things, you should do fine!! Good luck : )

I took it over eight years ago, but I remember leaving the testing center thinking, "There is no way I passed that thing," but I did on my first try. It sounds like you are definitely well prepared. From what I remember the geography questions got me. Good luck! I'm sure you will do very well!

i've taken the middle school praxis and it was not bad at all. just remember to breathe deep and think bc most of the questions were common sense things about teaching / environment/ parents, etc.

you'll do great!

I took the elementary Praxis test a couple of years ago and it's not bad at all! I didn't even study for it. You'll do great :)

I'm planning on taking it in the fall and I just bought the study guide and cliffs notes. Please post about it afterwards because I'd love to hear how it was!

Good Luck!!

I took it 7 years ago and it wasn't bad at all. I remember it being better than Praxis I. You'll do great, you will be surprised how much you really know!

I took it in 2004. Not difficult at all. the third one, which in Illinois is called the assessment of professional teaching was the most discouraging because it gives a classroom situation and sometimes what you would do isn't an option. Frustrating!

Oh.. and good luck and don't stress!

I took it last year the same week I took the GRE and the Praxis 1 and didn't have time to study for any of them. It is not bad at all, I scored way over what I needed. Just relax and don't think about it while your testing, freak out later. There was one weird question about a disease that I had no clue about but that was the only problem.

Do not worry! I freaked out about it too, and studied a ton because I was so worried about it. I passed the first time no problem, and realized that there was nothing to worry about. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it might be.

Good luck, don't stress!

I took the praxis 2 in 2004. i took principals of learning and teaching and i guess the other one was elementary content knowledge. it was VERY easy to pass. the one ppl take for alternate route is MUCH harder.

Do not stress at all!! I took the PLT and education of young children, but both tests were very easy and sort of common sense. I highly suggest looking at the practice questions on the ets website. You will do great!!

A bunch of my sorority sisters have taken both of the Praxis tests and they were completely freaking out as well, but I'm sure with a good amount of preparation you'll do fine :)

Good luck!

I took mine in January and studied using the Cliff notes guide and the ETS guide. I took a lot of praxis pre-tests and I think that it helped alot. I did the worst in Social Studies - and I don't think there was really anything I could do to prepare for the zingers they put on it! I am no history buff though... =0)

Good luck on your test love! I bet you will do much better than you think (isn't that always the case)

I will say a prayer for you!

And yes, I was surprised I liked Avatar as well. I was NOT interested in seeing it but thought I should be a good wife and go. Good surprise. I felt like I was watching Ferngully!

its impossible to study for it. I took it and its the most random question you will ever see. I mean the history is ridiculously hard but the only way i passed was math, english, science portions. Good Luck. You will be fine.

Yes, I've taken the Praxis II! I actually thought it was a lot easier than the Praxis I, and I didn't even study for it. If you actually studied, I am sure you will do great! :)

I took it a few years ago...six to be exact...so I'm not quite sure how accurate my feelings will be. However, I think that the test seemed more difficult when studying for it than the Praxis I but the actual test itself is not any worse than the first round of Praxis you've taken. As long as you prep for it you will be just fine! Best of luck!!! Are you going back to school or did I miss something?
