Yesterday Avery and I power walked a 5k to support the elementary school that I worked at last year.
It was cold! I bundled Avery up in several layers, covered her up in a blanket, hat, and hood and we ventured out to walk. It was just over freezing when we started, so I figured the faster we walked the faster that we could get warm.
About 3/4 of the way in Avery was screaming and I think her hat was really bothering her so I took it off. I literally jogged (not my favorite thing) closer to the finish line because it was so, so cold. As soon as we got done we took these pictures and then headed inside to get warm.
Overall it took us 54 minutes to complete our 5k and I think we were the first stroller finished.
There's my weird little competitive side kicking in.
I really enjoyed power walking with Avery. Having a cute partner makes everything a little more fun. Man, I can definitely feel the burn today in my upper legs. It's amazing how much clearer you can breath while walking in the cold. My lungs were burning but it felt great.
I'm going to combine power walking with healthier eating and the Bikini Body Mommy Challenge to get in better shape for the warmer weather. After one week of diet changes and working out I'd already lost 5 pounds. I'm excited to keep up this momentum!
My little walking partner shut her eyes as soon as we got into the car. She was so tired from our busy morning. I'd probably fall asleep too if I were that bundled and warm!
I stopped by my parents house afterwards to visit and my dad got over an hour of napping in with Avery in his recliner. You could tell that he enjoyed every single second of it.
Avery rocked a cute ponytail yesterday afternoon. Her hair is so long in the back but shorter on the sides, so the sides don't quite make it. It's growing so quickly that it's just a matter of time! This is so sweet to me. She is an awfully spunky little thing.
