Just an instagram beach recap of some memories from our vacation.
We borrowed a DVD player for the car from a sweet friend of mine.
Best decision ever.
I'm not one to use these for a run to the grocery store, but for a long travel day it's worth its weight in gold.
I took Divergent to the beach as my summer read.
After 123 pages I quit. It didn't hold my attention.
Quite disappointing after all the amazing reviews it had before I purchased.
Avery in her strawberry bathing suit.
She was so excited to be at the beach. This just screams summertime to me.
A rare couples shot of my husband and me.
We ventured to Calabash, NC for crab legs and hush puppies.
Best meal of my entire year.
Ella's of Calabash is the ticket! Try it out if you are in the area.
There is no nap like a beach nap. Or post beach nap.
This rental crib was amazing. Avery was an excellent sleeper, much different than last year's experience. We were leery about how she would sleep but she was so worn out that she slept great!
I am skeptical about getting in the ocean.
On day #4 I ventured out into the water and had such a great time, until someone on the shore shouted, "shark!" I was out of that water in no time flat. Sure enough there was a 3-4 ft long shark in the very shallow waves. My feet were planted firmly in the sand after this close encounter!
Miss Independent was given a lot of time outs on the beach.
It was so hard for her to listen to mama when the water was calling her name.
Discipline is discipline, no matter where you are. They will turn out all the better for it.
Still hurts to see such a sad face!
I'm loving all the pictures we took.
This photo of Avery and mama is priceless to me.
Our matching outfits made me so, so happy.
This bucket provided hours of entertainment.
The sheer enjoyment of a toddler exploring on the beach was so special to me.
The sand, shells, water...all such great learning tools!
